Traditional Uses:
- Reestablishes bacteria that normally live in your intestine after you use
antibiotics
- Stimulates your body’s natural defenses against infection and makes it more
difficult for disease-causing bacteria to get established
- Dietary supplement when suffering from candida yeast infections
Mode of Action:
- Antibiotics like penicillin, erythromycin, tetracycline and others not only
kill bacteria that make you ill, they also kill bacteria that normally live in
your body and assist digestion. Acidophilus reestablishes those \"good\" bacteria
in your intestine
- Acidophilus produces byproducts that fight and inhibit the growth of harmful
bacteria such as Proteus, Escherichia, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus
Drug Interactions:
- Don’t take acidophilus at the same time as antibiotics (particularly sulfa
drugs). Wait 2-3 hours after taking your drugs before ingesting acidophilus
- Acidophilus interferes with the work of sulphasalazine
- Alcohol partly counteracts the beneficial effects of acidophilus use
Indications:
Dietary supplement: for candida; used after antibiotics to replace normal flora
in the intestinal tract; stimulates immune system; inhibits pathogenic bacteria
growth.
Directions:
1 capsule twice daily. Don’t take acidophilus at the same time as antibiotics
(particularly sulfa drugs). Wait 2-3 hours after taking your drugs before
ingesting acidophilus.
Ingredients:
L. acidophilus, B. bifidum and B. longum in a starch complex providing 1.4
billion active cells.
Cautions:
