The eating disorders are very frequent diseases of our time and increasingly women suffer. Whenever there is a person eating problems, there are also emotional changes, so the anorexia and bulimia interdisciplinary require treatment from doctors, nutritionists and psychologists.

But besides these eating disorders , there is another who is not given proper dissemination and yet, doctors agree that is constantly increasing worldwide. We refer to orthorexia, a disorder characterized by an addiction to eating light and healthy.

Orthorexia is a term used since the 90s, when the boom came from food diet. Often, this disorder is mistaken for anorexia, but the difference is that the person does not avoid eating only light foods you choose only and often the patient ends up with malnutrition or a softening of the bones.

Orthorexia is seen primarily in women between 20 and 40 years with a medium and high purchasing power. Many times, people suffering from this illness severely restrict their social life because they feel they can not eat healthy food in a place other than your home.

Often, these women also avoid consuming products that contain artificial preservatives, so their diet is severely restricted, because they choose not to eat when they find what they want, which can lead to a picture of malnutrition .

It should be borne in mind that while caring figure is something that we want all the danger is to fall into obsession and addiction as is the case of orthorexia. In addition, the body needs small amounts of fat and carbohydrates, so eliminate them completely is not healthy.
